Rome is absolutelly full of historical and achitectural...

Rome is absolutelly full of historical and achitectural wonders whereby you could easily spend months and months to fully enjoy. Some venues make better photos at night. It is advisable to pre-purchase tickets for some of the historical venues as the queues (lines if you're American) can be extremely long. Many excellent attractions are free but these do attract many other visitors so can becme quite congested. Watch out for 'pick pockets'. Restaurants and bars can be quite expensive and it is important to check prices because in some establishments the published price may be based on 'take away' but can double or even trebble in cost if you sit down within their establishment to eat/drink. Some restaurants and bars offer a below standard level of service, especially considering the price. Food quality is acceptable but not fine dining, clearly aimed at the tourist market. The public space requires better investment. There is a 'dirty' feel to the City with lots of graffiti and the streets are full of litter. The street 'touts' can be a bit of a nuisance constantly trying to sell you things you really do not want. The main public park - Borghese Park is poorly maintained. Public transport is excellent - reasonably priced pre-pay tickets purchased in the local shop allows you to use all modes of public transport. If you are fit most venues are actually quite close together and easily accessible by walking.

    Rome was amazing!

Rome was amazing! We loved seeing all of the famous statues and buildings that we read about all of our lives. Seeing the Vatican was a bucket list item, and it did not disappoint! One word of caution....always remember to validate bus and train tickets in the little machines. If you don't, you will get a hefty fine from the transportation police. We unfortunately found this out first hand. :(

Rome like any major City is pretty crowded around all the main tourist sites. The 1990s was a good time for a more relaxing experience. Nowadays the crowds are 5 times the size as I remember it back then! I was very luicky to be old enough to recall those quieter times. more peaceful times..

Rome is great but it is a large city so if you're looking for a more laidback place to vacation try Florence and have daytrips to Venice and Pisa from there. Getting around Rome was hard for us because the subway is limited and has a lot of stairs which was hard for our senior parent.

I did not realise central Rome in June would be insanely PACKED with tourists (as I have only been there before during other months) and also that many of the monuments are covered up because they are going to be cleaned, apparently. I am less annoyed about the tourists than about the covered up monuments.

Our host Francesco was super nice, helpful, and accommodating. It was our first time in Italy and he gave us some good advice we used throughout our trip. The room was fairly basic but had everything needed for a few day stay in Rome. The location was great as well, the neighbor hood felt safe, had several stores, restaurants, and cafes nearby for anything we could need. It was a short walk to the metro and the Vatican, but was far enough away from the tourist areas so it wasn't too loud or busy outside the apartment.

It was a perfect stay at the middle of the historical city of Rome located within 1 km from Colosseum and just over a km from Roma Termini station. Very clean and comfortable room with a balcony and plenty of air and lights. The AC really can cool down the room unlike most of the hotels of Italy. Both room and toilet looked very well maintained. Bonus point was the nice and helpful behavior of the host. She went beyond our expectations with her helpfulness. Highly recommended.

We thoroughly enjoyed this location, which straddles the neighborhoods of Monti and Esquilino. It was easily walkable to many sites as well as to public transportation, including Termini. The communication prior to arrival was excellent, the accommodation was clean and comfortable, and we enjoyed the coffee/tea station which also had little snacks available. I would absolutely recommend staying here, though the prices in Rome were a shock after being in Southern Italy.

The location is WOW. right at the center of all things, but in a quite ally and above the best coffe in Italy and one of the best ice creams, and some really good Italian restaurants... good for your trip, bad for your diet. The room and the bed were really great and comfy, and with a great shower which is important to us. The staff was super helpful with everything, Dennis was really great. Amazing place!! Me and my mum really enjoyed out stay. The place has such a unique atmosphere. The host so helpful and nice. Our check in time was out of the house rules, but host allowed us to check in later. Moreover, our train got late and host still waited us for several hours. We just cannot be more thankful. It really made our trip to Rome special. Thank you! Also, we got recommendation on the restaurant nearby and it was our best meal in Italy.

The apartment was very charming and comfortable. The location was perfect. I really appreciated the elevator. There was no doubt that we were in Italy. It was just what we were hoping for. Way better than a modern hotel. The neighborhood was great with two very good restaurants just steps from the building and the Termini had a really good super market. This was the best place we stayed in Italy. Nice and new, modern and contemporary. Felt extremely clean, comfortable beds and we were lucky enough to have a view of Piazza Venezia from our room. Great location, we walked everywhere and didn’t have to use public transport once. Plus the breakfast! Pietro really went the extra mile to make breakfast each morning that bit special. This was our second stay at Hotel Trastevere within a 10-day period. (We started and ended our trip to Italy in Rome, with visits elsewhere in the middle.) Once again, we greatly enjoyed the location, the friendly and helpful staff, and the daily breakfast. Although it probably doesn't have all the amenities that some larger or more expensive hotels do, it had almost a family atmosphere, and we felt very much at home.

The hotel is a very easy 15 minute walk from the central train station. The location is very good as you're on a main street in Rome and can get to many places easily. The room was just fine; clean; good shower; comfy bed. Breakfast had hard boiled eggs (seemingly common in Italy vs scrambled eggs), plus meats, cheeses and fruits. Decent. The room was shaded well at night so that it remained dark. Good place.

When in Rome we will always stay at this hotel. Absolutely perfect. The best breakfast in all of Italy. Wonderful staff. No complaints whatsoever. Close to all kinds of public transport. Not a very long walk to the old town.

So close to Rome Termini train station if you are planning to head out to other places in Italy. Staff were kind and helpful, excellent stay overall!
